I started writing as a creative outlet in my otherwise very fact-based day jobs (physician and scientist). I still love my day jobs AND, my passion for writing fiction continues to grow. Now, I can’t not write.

Growing up, my favorite books were ones that took me on a wild ride through fantastical worlds with heroines and heroes I wanted to be like. Some of these books are still in my all time favorites list! Tamora Pierce’s “Wild Magic” and the Immortals Quartet and her Song of the Lioness Quartet; Garth Nix’s “Sabriel” (and the other Old Kingdom books). More recently, I’ve enjoyed exploring anything where the world building surprises me. Max Gladstone, Arkady Martine, Novae Caelum and Kate Milford are three recent favorites. I’m also exploring more cozy stories like T. Thorn Coyle’s Pride Street Mystery and Seashell Cove Mystery series. For a more extensive list and to see what I’m reading now, follow me on Fable.

When I’m not reading or writing, I love to sail, dance, hike, backpack and meditate.

I live with two amazing cats, Blue and Indra, in an upper story apartment that feels more like a tree house than a building most days.
